Six Just Learning Nurseries across the North East have been recognised for their outstanding food hygiene standards.
The Blaydon, Cleadon, Newcastle, Fulwell, Fingerpaint Kindergarten (Ryhope) and Doxford Park nurseries have all been awarded a 5 star rating by Environmental Health after a rigorous inspection of food hygiene standards.
The Environmental Health Officer (EHO) awarded the nurseries 5 stars, which is the highest achievement. The nurseries demonstrated a ‘high standard of compliance with statutory obligations and industry codes of recommended practice’ and ‘conforms to accepted good practices in the trade.
Excellent food hygiene standards contributed to the award being given. All six nurseries were also judged on structural requirements including layout, facilities and cleaning and the confidence found in management, the control systems and the training provided.
Jane Jobson, Just Learning Area Manager said: We’re really pleased to have been awarded 5 stars for our food hygiene.
“It is incredibly important that we achieve the highest possible standards of food hygiene regionally and nationally.
“All of the staff across the six nurseries work incredibly hard and are dedicated to making sure that hygiene standards are maintained to the highest level possible.”
