Children at the Just Learning nursery in Huntingdon have combined their experiences of learning about plant life and caring for plants with supporting the Marie Curie Trust.
The symbol of the Marie Curie Trust is the daffodil and nursery youngsters planted their own bulbs and have been watering and nurturing them, waiting for the green shoots to appear.
The children have decorated the pots and the bulbs have now been taken home to allow them to share the experience of watching the daffodils flower with their families. Donations are being collected for the Marie Curie Trust.
Chrissie Richardson, nursery manager said: “This has been a wonderful project for the children. They have enjoyed the experience of learning about planting the daffodil bulbs and caring for them. There was great excitement when the bulbs began to grow and now there is anticipation for the first flowers to appear.
“As the daffodil is the symbol of Marie Curie we thought it would be a nice idea to support this very worthwhile charity as part of our project.”
