Corner House Nursery believe in starting young, by helping children from as early as 6 months old to 4 years to enjoy being outdoors as much as possible.
With three beautiful play areas to choose from this is not a difficult task. Owner and Principal Lynne Shaw said: “It is so important that children learn to be a part of the natural world and spend plenty of time outdoors. Providing that they have suitable clothing and footwear, there is no reason why they should not go out to play in all kinds of weather.
"It is really great fun to go outside when it is raining with a big umbrella and wellies and splash in the puddles; and who does not remember catching snowflakes in winter”. We always insist on sun cream and sun hats when the sun shines.
Each play area at the nursery is quite different. There is a cool shady adventure playground with a log cabin and wobbly bridge for climbing, jumping and sliding, and a large yard where you can learn to pedal a bike or ‘drive a car’. There’s plenty to explore in the Nature Garden where you can learn about birds, insects and plants. The garden has a big lawn where we play games and football, have picnics and lots more.
A good nutritious, balanced diet is essential for our children as they grow and, once again, Corner House provides the best. Tracy is the nursery’s cook and has been making delicious home cooked meals for the children for the past 12 years. These include plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables and healthy choices that children enjoy. We drink organic milk too.
Altogether, Corner House is a happy, healthy place for children. They can stay for as little as half a day, to have fun and make friends, or for full days or full week 8am to 6pm for working parents.
