Staff and owners of Kiddi Caru Day Nursery, in Plympton, have double reason to celebrate the achievements of their service.
Having been named top Employer of Apprentices in the South West, by the Plymouth Training Provider Network, the nursery has also had its ‘outstanding’ rating with education regulator Ofsted confirmed, after a recent inspection.
The Employer of Apprentices for the Year accolades seeks out those businesses that support ongoing staff training, embrace bespoke courses and look to bring new talent into their sectors.
Commenting on the nursery’s commitment to child carer development, manager Tracey Noble said: “Apprenticeships provide a strong foundation for our young recruits, increases their self confidence, knowledge and leadership skills as well as providing the essential skills required to do the job.”
Part of The Childcare Corporation portfolio of 20 nurseries, based mostly in the South of England and some areas of the Midlands, the day nursery employs thirty-five staff, almost all of whom hold a recognised NVQ level 3 qualification, and is registered to welcome up to 100 children.
The Ofsted report on Kiddi Caru Day Nursery recorded that “ Children’s health, safety and general well-being is exceptionally well-supported. Highly-skilled staff deliver a rich and vibrant curriculum overall, creating an excellent balance between adult led and child initiated activities. Children’s uniqueness is valued and staff work hard to ensure an inclusive environment. They promote effective relationships with parents and other early years professionals supporting children in making rapid progress in their learning.”
