The National Day Nurseries Association, has launched its new online portal, offering courses for the early years workforce.

The Early Years Development Zone has been developed specifically for the early years workforce, with courses to suit the needs of all staff from managers to practitioner levels.

Purnima Tanuku, chief executive, of the National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA), said: “We are delighted to be able to offer this valuable system of support for nurseries. Our members have told us that they value support of this kind and in response to challenges within the sector we have developed this new range of e-learning."

"It is vital that nursery managers and practitioners have the up-to-date knowledge and training to be able to provide a high quality service for children and families and that this is regularly updated and refreshed.”

She added: “We will be updating and adding new services to the Early Years Development Zone regularly to ensure that cost-effective support is readily available for the sector.”

Courses are all completed online and contain interactive content and work based tasks to enrich the learning process.

Learners can also access additional resources and quizzes to test their knowledge as well as a notice board to network with other learners and to share learning and good practice.

The courses include ‘beginner’s guide to small business finance’, ‘marketing and sales’ and ‘safer recruitment’ and are all CPD UK certified. Learners will receive credit towards their professional development portfolio and a certificate upon completion.
