National Story Writing Competition Launched
‘We All Matter’
The launch of a National Story Writing Competition will inspire a generation of authors and promote awareness on inclusion issues in our schools. The competition is based on the exciting new Feelings and Emotions Cards from Smart Kids, which encourage discussion on the themes taken from the SEAL framework.
Award winning educational supplier Smart Kids and influential SEN charity NASEN have joined forces to introduce the event under the theme ‘We All Matter’
The story can be created in any medium they can think of so the entry is limited only by the imagination of your pupils, just as long as the judges are able to read or interpret the story.
There are two categories available:
1. Primary Schools (5-11 years) 2. Secondary Schools (12-16 years)
First prize is a £500 Smart Kids voucher for the school. A £50 gift voucher will also be awarded to the pupil.
There are five highly commended places in each category, and each pupil awarded this will receive a £10 gift voucher. Prizes will be awarded at Nasen Live 2011.
The school can download a selection of the Feelings and Emotions cards and entry form from www.smartkids.co.uk or www.nasen.org.uk, or they can be purchased from Smart Kids.
The closing date for the competition is 19th March 2011.
