Stepping Stones is a small, well-established nursery with exceptionally high standards and an outstanding reputation. We have a strong ethos based around providing the very best education and care for all our children, aged 12 months to 5 years. We have two settings - one in Streetly, Sutton Coldfield and one in Great Barr.

Both sites are looking for a Nursery Nurse / Early Years Practitioner to join their small but dedicated team. The ideal candidate will have at least one year post qualification experience working within a day nursery setting.

We have a full time position available at each site (4-5 days a week, 34-42.5 hours a week) and require someone who is enthusiastic, hardworking and dedicated to working with young children and who enjoys playing and teaching in order to create a successful, safe learning environment. Our learning ethos centres around 'In the Moment Planning' and we are passionate about child-led learning and learning through play.

The role will require you to work shifts based around our opening times of 7:30-18:00, Monday to Friday, 52 weeks of the year.

Essential skills:

  • Minimum Level 3 NVQ/equivalent qualification
  • Up-to-date knowledge of EYFS. You will be expected to contribute towards effective implementation of the EYFS and maintain accurate and effective children’s records and learning journals.

Desirable skills:

  • 1 year of post-qualification experience within a day nursery setting.
  • Knowledge of In the Moment Planning
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding/Child Protection knowledge
  • Food Handling / Food Hygiene qualification
  • Health and Safety qualification
  • Risk Assessment qualification
  • Paediatric first-aid

After an initial interview/meeting, we would require you to come back and spend a half day with us so that we can see how you interact with the children.
