Role: Deputy Manager

Full time, Monday to Friday (40-45 hours per week), shifts between: 7:15am-6.45pm

TippyToes Stantonbury Nursery is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Deputy Manager. This person will need a vibrant team spirit coupled with a child-centered approach to their work ethos.

We are a family run 64 place setting, operating from a farmhouse full of character with extensive gardens. We are inspired by the Reggio Emilia Approach and are looking for applicants who have knowledge of and interest in the use of authentic resources and loose parts in open ended play and the benefits of risky play.

As Deputy Manager you will work closely with the Manager to oversee the day to day running of the setting. You will act as a role model to the staff team, demonstrating outstanding practice and strong leadership skills to support our team in the delivery of high-quality care and education to children aged 3 months to 5 years. You will also have the knowledge and confidence to act appropriately on behalf of the Nursery Manager in their absence.

You will have a detailed knowledge of the Statutory Framework of the EYFS and Development Matters and Child Protection, Safeguarding and Welfare requirements. You will ensure full compliance with all legislative requirements alongside implementing our policies and procedures.

You must have excellent communication skills and the ability to form positive and professional working relationships with staff, parents and carers, other professionals and visitors to the setting. You must have strong leadership and decision-making skills, work well under pressure and be dedicated to your career in childcare.

  • All applicants must be qualified to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 in childcare (or preferably hold a childcare degree). You will have at least 2 years managerial experience as a Deputy in a childcare setting
  • or have experience in a higher managerial role.
