We can do this without you, so were looking for a Nursery Chef to join us at our nursery in Shellingford. You will be responsible for ensuring the children experience a variety of healthy balanced and nutritious foods throughout the day.


About our Shellingford Nursery

 

 

Busy Bees at Shellingford (Home Farm) is a purpose built barn conversion local nursery situated within a farm environment.

 

 

The Nursery has an extensive garden area, which backs onto a picturesque countryside landscape. The Nursery is fully air-conditioned and boasts under floor heating.

Home Farm is a working farm and can thus offers endless opportunities for outdoor activities. These are all considered a vital aspect of learning. Each child will have the chance to see farm life on a day-to-day basis. Regular features will include milk tankers arriving, tractors being repaired, crops being harvested and calves being fed.

With a large stimulating garden and good supply of specialist outdoor play equipment the children have the opportunity for farm walks to observe the animals and explore the countryside. The children have endless opportunities for growing fresh vegetables and herbs and make the most of being able to learn outdoors as much as in through a free flow system. 


Key responsibilities:

 

  • Provide healthy balanced, nutritious freshly prepared meals and snacks in line with food safety regulations and Busy Bees best practice guidelines.
  • Organise, lead and motivate the catering team
  • Be involved in the adhering to budgets and financial targets and forecasts according to actual attendance
  • Maintain stock levels and ordering new supplies
  • Maintain high hygiene standards in the kitchen, including regular high and low level cleaning of surfaces and equipment

You need:

 

 

  • Food Safety or Hygiene Level 2 (Desirable)
  • Experience within a large catering operation which prepares meals with fresh ingredients (12 minimum)
  • Good communication, organisational skills
  • High Standards of personal hygiene
