St Margaret’s Preparatory School is seeking a full time Nursery Assistant to join our experienced and dedicated team. The successful applicant will have the talent, enthusiasm, energy and love of learning required to get the best from motivated and delightful children. They will also demonstrate the flexibility and commitment that is the hallmark of St Margaret’s staff.

The Powling Nursery is a brand new purpose built facility that was opened in September 2017. In addition to our daily routine, Nursery children enjoy a range of enhanced educational activities many of which are taught by qualified teachers or specialist staff such as French, cooking, PE and games, music and singing. St Margaret’s is a thriving and highly regarded 2-11 preparatory day school in north Essex. The school is non-selective but academic outcomes are excellent. The school is part of the Cognita group, which currently consists of 70 schools worldwide and invests heavily in professional development.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Cache Level 2 or equivalent
  • Good literacy
  • Good numeracy
  • Good ICT skills
  • Good understanding of the EYFS
  • A willingness to become involved in the wider life of the school
  • Well organised
  • Creative and innovative
  • Experience in working in Early Years education
  • Paediatric First Aid (or willingness to achieve this qualification within three months of taking up the post)
  • Food hygiene training (or willingness to achieve this qualification within three months of taking up the post)
