Deputy Manager:

Our aim over the years has been to provide excellent care and education for our children. We provide stimulating and warm environments and offer the highest standard of service to all.

We are currently looking for a Deputy Manager to join our Ofsted recognised nursery in Stevenage. Joining our team of six experienced staff you will be:

  • Passionate about the best practices in care, learning and development of babies and children in all aspects of child development.
  • Enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.
  • Creative in developing programmes of activities suitable to the age range of children in your area in conjunction with other staff.


Some of your responsibilities will include:

Supporting the manager in the daily running of the nursery

Providing direction and supervision to the Nursery Team to motivate high-quality childcare

Ensuring all typical policies and documentation are up to date and of a high standard as per OFSTED requirements

Promoting positive relationships with parents, children and colleagues

To ensure that monthly and weekly planning is correct, up to date and enable children to develop and learn.

Use observation and other strategies to monitor children's activity, development and progress systematically. Use this information to improve practice and provision.

Ensuring health, safety and wellbeing of the children at all times.

Positive management of Children's behaviour


  • You will need to have the following minimum qualifications
  • training and experience: NVQ Level 4 in Childcare. Safeguarding/First Aid Training Knowledge of OFSTED standards Excellent working knowledge of the EYFS Excellent organisational skills Good time management skills Excellent communication skills strong people management skills to motivate staff
