Banana Moon Day Nursery will be opening very soon in Moseley, Reading and is looking for enthusiastic, self motivated Room Leaders. We are currently recruiting a strong Room Leader for the following age groups: 3 months to 2 years.

Room leaders will be supporting the Management team in the day to day running of the 60 place children’s day nursery. The nursery will be offering full day care for children aged from 3 months to 5 years of age, between the hours of 7.30am – 6.30pm. Flexibility and good time management is key to this role.

Role and responsibilities

To be an active member of the team ensuring that all children receive high quality care. Ensuring all children in their care are kept safe and receive rich and stimulating play experiences which meet their individual needs.

To have an effective daily supervision of the Room in accordance with the requirements of Banana Moon Day Nursery’s policies and procedures and the statutory requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage.

To ensure all agreed policies and procedures are maintained in the nursery at all times through supervision, role modelling and supporting the team

Acting as a named co-ordinator relevant to their skills or training as designated by the Nursery Manager.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • You must hold a minimum of a Level 3 in Childcare
  • must have suitable experience in working with under 2’s and have at least 1 years experience in a leadership role. You must have experience with dealing with staffing / performance issues
  • vetting and recruitment
  • health and safety
  • Ofsted and other external agencies.
  • You must be able to work on your own initiative and have a professional yet approachable leadership style.
  • You will need to have a firm understanding and experience of the Early Years Foundation Stage and Welfare Requirements and how these are put into practice.
