You’ll be required to work closely with the Nursery Manager at all times, your duties will comprise those appropriate to the post as directed.

About you

You should have 2 years’ experience of working in a day-care setting and you should have a level 2 or 3 in Childcare.  Our children are aged between 6 months and 5 years old so you should be comfortable working with this age group and able to form good relationships with staff and parents.

As well as adhering to the Policies and Procedures of Goslings Nursery, you will need to comply with Health and Safety legislation, working within the guidelines of Ofsted and National Standards and maintaining confidentiality at all times.

Whilst caring for and supervising the children with regard to their physical, emotional and intellectual needs you will need to maintain a positive and upbeat attitude.  There will also be times when you will be required to attend staff meetings, parents’ evenings, open days and children’s outings etc.

You will be expected to ensure that planning and preparation of all activities meets with the children’s individual needs and that records are kept up-to-date, with all observations being done. Whilst managing staff that falls within your remit, you will also need to identify and follow correct procedures when dealing with child protection issues.
