Room Leader, Full Time – Under 3's

Location: Brent Cross, North West London

Topsy Turvy World houses a multi-level maze of tunnels, climbs, drops, slides and ball cannons providing endless energetic entertainment for children up to the age of twelve and accompanying adults. In Easter 2014 we opened our onsite nursery. Going from strength to strength, and due to expansion and continued success, we are now looking for a committed and passionate Room Leader, who can really get involved in helping to develop this area with the Nursery Manager.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • To take full day to day responsibility for the efficient running of the room facility.
  • To help deal with staff records and help with appraisals.
  • To provide an attractive stimulating range of equipment, activities and displays relevant to the age and needs of the children in the setting, which encourage independence, self motivation and eagerness to learn.
  • To establish, in conjunction with the childcare SENCO, individual programmes for any children with special needs.
  • To treat information of matters relating to the work within the setting as confidential.
  • To ensure any injury or accident or suspicion of non accidental injury are recorded correctly or reported.
  • To ensure a high standard of hygiene in relation to staff, children, equipment and surroundings.
  • To ensure Topsy Turvy policies and procedures are followed at all times.
  • To ensure that the Ofsted standards including EYFS is followed at all times.
  • To support the nursery manager in striving to deliver an outstanding setting.
  • Help students and trainees to settle in and make a contribution to the assessment of the students and trainees performance and to ensure high standards are continually being met.
  • To open and close the nursery alongside deputy and nursery manager
  • Any other duties that maybe required.

Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar environment, working with under 3's, perhaps as a Senior Practitioner looking to take your next career step? Or an existing Room Leader who wants a more varied position, where you can really influence the running of the room.

You must also be a minimum of Level 3 Qualified, in a Childcare related subject.
