  • a) The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 17 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for St Paul's Day Nursery in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.8 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Day Nursery / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Day Nursery receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.527 for St Paul's Day Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (134 Excellents x 5) + (45 Goods x 4) + (22 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 203 Ratings = 4.527

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 3.778 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for St Paul's Day Nursery is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 3.5

    2. Target of 10.8 positive Reviews (54 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 3 Reviews ÷ 10.8 Target = 0.278

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

Thank you so much for your kind comments. It has been a pleasure looking after your daughter and long may it continue.

The level of care in the nursery is satisfactory however, I would strongly suggest for 'screen time' to be totally removed and staff to be more proactive in delivering stimulating learning activities. Encourage more outdoor visits and have more up-to-date facilities. Also, the fees are slightly higher than other nurseries within the locality.

If like me you are dreading the thought of your prince or princess being in a setting without you around, just stop those thoughts right here, as I was in the same situation a few years back when I was looking to send my son to nursery. St Paul's staff are exceptional, they are all very warm and nurturing, efficient and caring, they go out of their way to accommodate your needs, and always make the time for you. I was so impressed with the way my son settled so quickly and enjoyed his time there, that I've enrolled my daughter too! Absolutely highly recommended for all those worried parents who wish for their child to be in a safe environment with people that actually care for their wellbeing.

Thank you so much for your lovely comments, they are very much appreciated. We have enjoyed looking after your children as much as they have enjoyed coming to our Nursery.

I highly recommend St Paul's Day Nursery. I have 2 children attending the nursery and I couldn't have chose a better place.
The staff are very welcoming, professional and caring.
The nursery has great facilities, from a safe outdoor play area to parking at its doorstep.
Most importantly the nursery takes child safety very seriously and has a strict security policy.

I am very happy with the care and staff at the nursery, the staff communicate well with myself regarding all aspects of care, concern and safeguarding to do with my child and both my children have attended the nursery while I have been a working mother. Both my children have learned to speak and progressed well and developed well at the nursery compared to their cousins and other family members who have not attended a nursery.

I don't have any other comments to make at this point.
I do feel the price to be quite high sometimes and can be very hard to manage.

I was pleased with the help I've received from staff members regarding the toilet training of my child.

Kirsty Tarr, Deputy Manager at St Paul's Day Nursery responded to this review on 18 May 2016:

Thank you for your comments, we have enjoyed caring for your two children. Parent partnership is very important to us and we would be grateful for your suggestions to how you feel we can improve in the areas you feel are satisfactory. This can be done by speaking to a senior member of staff or posting your anonymous suggestions in the parent suggestion box located in the corridor. The Crossover advice centre is always on hand to see if you are receiving all the financial support you are entitled to with regards to nursery fees. We do not take fee increases lightly, and we carry out lots of local research to ensure fees are competitive with surrounding nurseries.

I feel as though the staff are very kind and caring and support my child superbly throughout the day. After I pick up my child I always notice he has learnt something new which makes me particularly grateful to St Pauls Day Nursery as they have helped my little boy develop really well.

Thank you all.

Great nursery for both my children. One in the baby room one in the pre school room. Both children settled in well with key workers better than in previous nurseries. My daughter has learnt her alphabet and how to write her name since being at the nursery.

I feel that St. Paul's nursery is a very friendly and controlled environment. The staff are lovely, the food is nutritional and my children are safeguarded to a high standard, with passwords, buzzers and fencing all around the building and garden. I would suggest the nursery to others as my children are always welcomed and they enjoy going to the nursery and interacting with the staff and other children. However I do feel the only down fall of the nursery is the fencing where the road is open to the public is not covered, so the public cannot see the children playing. Apart from that the nursery is fantastic. :)

My son attended this nursery from the age of 3 to 4. After being diagnosed with autism and a speech delay my son struggled socially an verbally and because of St Paul's my son is now confident and can now hold a full conversation. The nursery helped him come out of his shell. My daughter now attends the nursery and is becoming more confident each day. I also recommended the nursery to my family who now send their children to St Paul's. The staff are great an the facilities are great.

My 2 year old has been going to the nursery since Jan 2016. I would definitely recommend it to parents out there, who are looking for places for their kids. My son has gained a lot of confidence and is learning new things every day. I will be sending my second child this year to the same nursery. Well done, excellent staff.
