  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5 out of 5 from 28 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

For each review the Day Nursery / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Day Nursery receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.735 for IntoPlay Day Nursery @ Longlevens is calculated as follows: ( (276 Excellents x 5) + (90 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 370 Ratings = 4.735

If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for IntoPlay Day Nursery @ Longlevens is based on 28 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4

    2. Target of 19 positive Reviews (95 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 28 Reviews ÷ 19 Target Reached = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

My son has been attending IntoPlay Longlevens since July 2017, he absolutely loves attending! Staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful, they genuinely care about the families and children who attend. Since attending my son's behaviour has Improved, I would recommend into-play Longlevens to anyone looking for a nursery or preschool, we have tried a couple of nurseries/preschools local to Innsworth/Churchdown/Longlevens and IntoPlay is by far the best one!

The staff are friendly and strive to understand my child's needs. They are well qualified and the nursery is a safe place to leave my child. My child has come on leaps and bounds while being at the nursery, her walking, talking, hand and eye coordination and confidence is incredible and I credit the nursery for this. I love the activities that the nursery put on outside of work days, it helps the parents to feel included in their children's learning.

My daughter has attended the nursery for the last 2.5 years and I have been extremely pleased with every aspect. The staff are wonderful, they are fantastic with the children and form great relations with both the children and parents. They go above and beyond and I've always felt my daughter is in safe hands with them. They are always doing fun and educational activities and do special events for Halloween, Christmas etc. The management is great and make the effort to be very involved and are very approachable. The nursery was recommended to me and I have and would continue to recommend it.

I have two children at the IntoPlay Day Nursery @ Longlevens and I am extremely happy will the quality of care and facilities available. The recent refurbishment has further enhanced the warm environment. Excellent staff who really do care about the children and never hesitate to go that extra mile to help out. Very informative updates on the activities of each child at pick up time. My kids thoroughly enjoy going to nursery. The social media pictures, newsletters and other extracurricular type activities are excellent. Would not hesitate to recommend to others.

I would highly recommend IntoPlay Day Nursery @ Longlevens, both my children attend/attended IntoPlay from a very young age and went right through until they left for school. They have all been very good at dealing with my requests for extra days at short notice. My youngest son who has some health conditions has been thoroughly looked after and have put me at ease for him to be left in there care. Thanks to all the girls.

Would highly recommend IntoPlay to others.
My daughter has gone from one day to three days per week and found this difficult as she also moved into the preschool at the same time - she got upset every morning (and so did I) but the staff reassured her and myself and it wasn't long before she was looking forward to going to see her friends.
Her key worker is fantastic and it is so refreshing for me know that she is enjoying her time at nursery

What an amazing nursery, my daughter moved from another nursery, which had an “outstanding” Ofsted, but IntoPlay, Longlevens is far superior to the previous nursery. All the staff are amazing and give 110% all the time, and connect with the children amazingly. They make everyone feel so welcome. The activities and opportunities available to the children are fantastic. I would HIGHLY recommend this nursery.

My son was very quick to settle in. We think this is thanks to friendly staff, a variety of activities, good routine and great outdoor space.

The staff are always friendly, approachable and accommodating!

My only hesitation is that not much is provided with regards to the progress of my son and feedback on performance but he does come home with new developments.

Thank you very much for taking the time to submit a recommendation, will pass on to the girls in pre-school.

I have no complaints at all! I have no doubts that my little boy is being looked after with a quality of care that I would give him. The girls are amazing with him (knowing that he is reluctant to leave me) they all seem to have their own lovely relationship with him. I look forward to hearing about his day every time. If ever I have a question, the majority of the time it is handled quickly. any requirements are no issue. They have worked with me to overcome a few things such as potty training and improving speech. I truly believe that he is as far along as he is because of the help from everyone. Always more than happy to help! Thank you guys for making it so much easier.

My daughter is now in the Rising 3's section, having previously been in the under 2's since the age of 5 months old. She's very much at ease, knows everyone and is always happy to go to nursery.
There's a good variety of food and indoors/outdoors activities. I can see her language, skills and general knowledge improving quite rapidly.
I would recommend this nursery to other parents.

Thank you, Karen. Lovely words : )

We have two children who attend IntoPlay Longlevens nursery in different rooms. We have always found the staff approachable, kind and caring with nothing being too much trouble. Both children settled well with the time, care and support of the staff in the Baby Room. The children come home happy and relaxed on the days they attend having completed a wide variety of activities.

The nursery management have shown flexibility when we have needed to book the children in for extra days and the communication between parents and staff is excellent. A wide variety of events are organised regularly, just recently we attended a fete to raise money for charity and they held a craft morning at the weekend for the children free of charge.
The staff all give more than is expected in time and clearly feel it is a vocation rather than just a job.

We have two children currently attending IntoPlay and they both love it. They get involved in a range of activities every day, including time spent outside, messy play and imaginative play. The individual characters of my two have been catered for and they are encouraged to take the next steps in development in an encouraging, thoughtful way. Daily feedback is good and it's a joy looking through their journals. The food is fresh and healthy, I think the girls enjoy their nursery meals more than mine! We are so happy we chose IntoPlay.

Thank you for taking the time to submit this review, Fran.

I absolutely love this nursery as does my 19-month-old son. He has been attending since he was 10 months old and I love that it is now a second home to him. Every day I drop him off and he runs straight in and hugs the staff as he has such a strong bond with them all and never has an issue with me leaving him there. He always learns something new and the variety of toys, meals and activities means he is always getting to do something different and is much better and varied than what I would be able to provide at home.

The management are super helpful and understanding and the levels of security to gain access to the building are brilliant and give me great peace of mind.

Laura Walby, Manager at IntoPlay Day Nursery @ Longlevens responded to this review on 23 Jan 2017:

Thanks for submitting a review, Beth. Lovely feedback to share with our team :)

We moved our children to IntoPlay in order to get them closer to the school they would be going onto afterwards. The nursery and staff were very welcoming and made the transition for my daughter really easy. Their kindness, compassion and the home from home environment meant that my daughter loved going to nursery. She has made lasting friends that have now followed her to the school. All in all a fantastic nursery, fantastic staff and I would highly recommend them.

I cannot recommend IntoPlay highly enough. We had a bad experience with two other nurseries so my husband and I were anxious about leaving our daughter at another care provider. All the staff have been at the setting for years and even remembered my stepson who also attended IntoPlay (he is 14 now!) The staff are excellent, nothing is too much trouble and you always get a detailed handover at the end of the day. My little girl loves going and is reluctant to leave at times! I would not hesitate recommending them to friends.

IntoPlay is a lovely nursery. They always give a friendly welcome and care greatly about giving the children wonderful memories. The staff are always striving to improve their nursery and their services. I also love that they offer term time places-very useful for my family.

Job Title: Nursery Director

Description:

Karen set up Into-Play Longlevens in February 1992 - where it was initially registered for 24 children. In 2001, following a rather large extension (which Karen was heavily involved) this number saw the nursery expand to a 95-place provision, making it the largest purpose-built nursery in Gloucestershire. Over the years, Karen has not only attained an NVQ Level 3, she also trained to become an NVQ assessor, achieved qualifications in Counselling and Mentoring, and also had her own consultancy business. In 2012, Karen brought a second site near the famous Gloucester Docks and transformed a run-down pub into a thriving and homely nursery, which opened in January 2013. Her most recent project is Into-Play number three which is located on Barnwood Road, formerly the old Dr's Surgery. Into-play @ Barnwood opened in October 2015 and is a very successful setting.
