Reviews

9.1 Cambridge Day Nursery has a Review Score of 9.1 (9.132)

The Review Score of 9.1 (maximum of 10) for Cambridge Day Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 6 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Cambridge Day Nursery in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Day Nursery / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Day Nursery receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.775 for Cambridge Day Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (55 Excellents x 5) + (16 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 71 Ratings = 4.775

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Day Nursery to friends and family?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 4.357 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cambridge Day Nursery is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4

    2. Target of 16.8 positive Reviews (84 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 6 Reviews ÷ 16.8 Target = 0.357

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

As soon as you step through the door of this nursery you can tell its Outstanding even though Ofsted have not yet rated them that. All parents I speak to feel the same that the staff and management go above and beyond for every child and family. The garden space they have is amazing and the fact they do forest school with all the age groups which were one of the reasons why I put my son in that nursery.

I love the fact that visitors come into the nursery as much as the children go out of the nursery. They have even taken Pre-School to London for the day, I'm not sure if I'd want to take my 3 year old to London let alone 30 or so on a coach to London. If you are looking for childcare, you have to take the time to visit this nursery.

Cambridge Day Nursery do a fantastic job. They have a varied and interesting range of activities with a focus on the outdoors. My four year old loves the forest area. Jessie hs been there since she was six months and they have supported her through some challenging times, providing great 1:1 support when required. As a pre-school, she's had the chance of trips to a wildlife park, a museum as well as doing the walk for life.

Cambridge Day Nursery has really impressed me. The staff are relentless with their enthusiasm, creativity, patience and ability to help the children play, learn, understand the world, and develop relationships with each other - often all at the same time! From the daily routines to special outings, they don't seem to take the easy option and are always willing to try new activities.
They offer an extremely caring environment, full of mutual respect with boundaries that are thoughtful and fair.
My son, who has been there since he was 1 year old and is now 4, has learned so much being there which helps him outside nursery. In fact, I've learned a lot about dealing with children by talking to the staff and observing their interactions with the kids. Cambridge Day Nursery has fabulous outdoor space, including a forest school. The food is homecooked, looks delicious and is made with love and care. I would highly recommend this nursery.

Our son has been at Cambridge Day Nursery for 6 months. He is very happy there and we are very impressed with the nursery.
The staff are very good and couldn't be more helpful. They really encourage lots of outdoor adventurous play, which really suits our 'full of beans' 2-year-old.
They also do lots of activities outside the nursery, such as going to the park, library and shops, which we really like.
Overall very impressed and we would recommend.

My son has attended Cambridge Day Nursery for a year, and I am more and more appreciative of the outstanding quality of care that he receives. The staff with who we have worked closely have all been truly exceptional: kind and attentive, alert and responsive to my son's individual needs (both personal and educational), communicative and welcoming to parents, and with seemingly boundless energy and patience.
The nursery has a relaxed, happy atmosphere, and is truly child-led. Days are busy and there are many activities on offer, but without a rigid structure. There is a huge, well-stocked garden that my son loves. This is not a 'corporate', chain nursery, and is not as slickly presented as some other providers. However, its dedication to children and their wellbeing, development and happiness could not be bettered.
