  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.4 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Day Nursery / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Day Nursery receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. 3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

    1. 3 + 0.25 = 3.25

The nursery has helped my child be more confident in her surroundings. My child has learnt so much from this nursery setting and we are so happy with how she is developing. This nursery also provides us peace of mind as we can watch our child via CCTV. Overall, this nursery is a great environment for our child to learn and develop.

Having already sent my eldest child through Barley Lane there was no doubt I would send my youngest.
The staff are highly motivated and caring and are eager to listen and help with any issues that I had with my sons.
My eldest had some speech delay but there isn't any doubt that this improved exponentially with the efforts and interactions with such dedicated nursery staff.
An excellent nursery!

I have worked at the Nursery for about 5 years. I started with a NVQ Level 2 qualification in Childcare and worked towards my Level 3 qualification while in a short time after I started working here. I have worked in all the rooms – from Baby to Pre-school.

The Nursery has a lot of training opportunities and I have been fortunate enough to be able to go on many of these trainings, and they have contributed to my growth immensely.

For me the Nursery is like a second family as everyone is friendly and seeks to help each other out. The staff outings and meetings are a great team building experience which is not found in many other establishments. The internal promotion policy of the company affords staff members the chance of self-advancement. I was on my maternity for a year and a half and I came back to the Nursery with my baby in the Baby Room at the Nursery. The staff members have really helped with making the transition of becoming a working mum at the nursery a very smooth and encouraging experience – they are really great!

I love working with the children most especially in the Pre-School as everyday holds a new experience as we tend to witness the changes in the children as they grow.

Description:

I studied at Bower Park Secondary School, during my time there we had the opportunity to go on a two weeks work placement. My neighbour worked at a nursery and I went on to do my work placement with her.

I really enjoyed my time working at the nursery and I knew after that I wanted to pursue a career in childcare. By my year 9 I could choose topics I wanted to take for my GCSE, so I decided to take BTEC Health and Social Care which covered a range of topics including Childcare. I achieved a BTEC Level 2 and later went on to achieve level 3 diploma in Childcare and education.

I joined Barley Lane Montessori Day Nursery in 2011 and since then I have learnt new skills and built on my knowledge of childcare and Education. I have many opportunities to try new things. Everybody here works well in a team and supports each other at work. There is a positive and happy atmosphere throughout the setting which encourages everyone to stay in good spirit.

I have progressed from working in the toddlers’ room as a nursery officer to being a Deputy Manager, which has further exposed me to some different skills. I have enjoyed much support and training opportunities to help me with my role. I am also planning to go for my foundation degree in the coming year to further my knowledge and skills.

Mrs Meenakshi (Meesha) Jalah

Ever since I graduated followed by my teaching degree, I started to work with children and never looked back. Each child amazes me and the passion and desire to work constructively for the children keeps building up in me.

Having my own childcare and education company enables me to fulfil my vision of a happy community of childcare with outstanding achievements.

My nursery schools provide child centred environments where all kinds of learning styles are catered for and worked with. We are a very multicultural nursery school community with children and team members from all ethnic background attending.

Our nursery schools also offers apprenticeship to support younger generation willing to train in the childcare and education industry.

We cater for children from birth till 11 years, offering wrap around care throughout the years, and have become an indispensable part of the local area we serve.

Through our innovative educational care programme, we have brought the Nursery parents community together time and again, enabling parents to come together as friends, connect and support each other in the modern era of sole parenting.

We work in partnership with our local (Redbridge) education authority team known as London Borough of Redbridge South Locality Improvement Team for continuous quality improvements.

The future plans for the nurseries includes providing a challenging and calm environment on a continuous basis to meet the different growing needs of the children. We continuously work hard to provide high quality education and exemplary care to our children. We nurture and groom them for becoming innovative and successful learners.
