  • a) The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 6 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Bright Horizons Highgate Day Nursery and Preschool in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.1 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

Detailed Breakdown

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Day Nursery / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Day Nursery receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.5 for Bright Horizons Highgate Day Nursery and Preschool is calculated as follows: ( (45 Excellents x 5) + (19 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 72 Ratings = 4.5

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Day Nursery to friends and family?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 4.114 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bright Horizons Highgate Day Nursery and Preschool is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 3.75

    2. Target of 11 positive Reviews (55 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 4 Reviews ÷ 11 Target = 0.364

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

Our daughter has settled in really well at Highgate Nursery, and we can only put this down to the friendliness of the staff. The mix of activities are the right level for her and provide a strong foundation for her educationally. She really enjoys music and painting and has made friends across the different age groups. And the variety of good food is a real plus too!

The nursery staff are amazing and are engaged with the children. I work full time so it was important to find the right fit for my son. He really enjoys his nursery and looks forward to going every day. The nursery arranges activities from music, dance, art and numbers. They also arrange for parents to join in every so often, i.e they did a mothers/fathers day breakfast which was great. Management looks to involve parents and encourages feedback which is reassuring. The staff have helped him meet his development milestone, (encouraging the ones she struggles with) he is confident and happy with meeting new people and importantly enjoys learning - which I believe is attributed to the positive play approach by the nursery and the excellent care and attention by the staff.

We appreciate all the hard work and love the staff are giving to our daughter.
We really feel our daughter is happy at the nursery.
One improvement idea would be around the menu. Even if the management made an effort to reduce the desserts, I still find that it's too sweet for kids of that age. The nursery should offer more yoghurt and fruit.

Katherine O'Brien, Digital Marketing Coordinator at Bright Horizons Highgate Day Nursery and Preschool responded to this review on 19 Jul 2017:

Thank you very much for your review. Your feedback is very important in helping us to understand how we can provide the high-quality care and education to you and your family. Our menu's are carefully prepared and designed to keep health and nutrition key. I will ensure the Nursery Manager is aware of your feedback on the desserts at the nursery.

The nursery staff are amazing and are engaged with the children. I work full time so it was important to find the right fit for my daughter. She really enjoys her nursery and looks forward to going every day (she joined when 11 months - now 2). The nursery arranges activities from music, dance, (French in 2-3's room), art and numbers. They also arrange for parents to join in every so often, i.e they did a mothers/fathers day breakfast which was great. Management looks to involve parents and encourages feedback which is reassuring. My daughter loves the staff in her room, they have helped her meet her development milestone, (encouraging the ones she struggles with) she is confident and happy with meeting new people and importantly enjoys learning - which I believe is attributed to the positive play approach by the nursery and the excellent care and attention by the staff. Whilst a small play area, this is offset by trips to the park. I would highly recommend this nursery for parents in this area.

A lovely happy nursery with friendly and dedicated staff members. The children are always happy to be dropped off and always seem to have learned something new each day, whether its a song or part of the alphabet.

The Highgate Nursery is a lovely and friendly place. The best thing about the nursery is the people that work for the nursery. The team is great and diverse and they all seem to really enjoy working with the children. I feel as a safe and positive environment for the children to play and learn.

I started working at kidsunlimited nursery in July 2007 as a permanent bank staff and I worked there for 3 years before going on to experience a Montessori nursery which I enjoyed. I started working from March 2011 as a nursery nurse from which I progressed in doing my level 3 diploma for children and young people's workforce with Smart Training organisation. I stayed in the company for 3 years.
In February 2013, I wanted to progress and I applied for a room supervisor for 2-3s room in kidsunlimited in Regents Place before I progressed to become third in charge. In October 2015, I got promoted to acting deputy manager before moving to Highgate as deputy manager. I am currently at having a superb time getting to know the children and the team and they have welcomed me so kindly.
