  • The Review Score (maximum of 10) is made up of a Quality Score (maximum of 5) and Quantity Score (maximum of 5):

    • Quality Score: 5 Points are available for the average rating. For each review the nursery is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The nursery receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating. (Please note that the ratings of Very Poor and Poor have only been available since the change from Recommendations to Reviews on 7th July 2015.)

      • Any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this care provider to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

      • Any Recommendation. Before the change from Recommendations to Reviews on 7th July 2015 all feedback was limited to Recommendations (ie positive comments only)

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

      1. 3 points for receiving the first Positive Review.

      2. 0.1 Point per Positive Review, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. (ie a nursery requires 10 Positive Reviews to receive the maximum score of 1 point.)

      3. (Number of Positive Reviews ÷ number of children) x 2, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. ie a nursery has to receive a number of Positive Reviews equal to half of the number of children to obtain the maximum score of 1 point. eg a nursery with 40 children has to receive 20 Positive Reviews to obtain the maximum score of 1 point.

Reviewer Connection to Albert House Day Nursery

  • Mother of Child

My daughter has been coming to the nursery since 2012 when she was roughly 7 months old. From day 1 she has loved this place. The staff are amazing and Isabella loves them. The nursery has brought her on so much in terms of academic progress and enabling her to make friends and socialise. I love to hear about her nursery day when she comes home. The pictures and craft items she brings home decorate my home.

Albert house allows myself and my husband to go to work confident that Isabella is in safe hands and enjoying herself.
I just think that the government should reassess the "free" hours policy. We pay for Isabella to attend nursery which no help from the government, when many of her class mates attend for free.

Albert House Nursery is a lovely friendly place.
My son first started at the age of 10 months and the staff were very genuine and reassuring, and I felt comfortable and happy to leave my baby in their care.
They show genuine affection and love to all the children.
Nathan developed quickly and became a very confident little boy.
The nursery itself is a lovely place and very homely and one of the main things that appealed to me was the fantastic outdoor space and garden area.
The children are outside having fun at every opportunity including teddy bears picnics and beach parties in the summer.
The staff take them on little excursions to the local park and shops. Nath came home one evening with a sandwich that he made from the ingredients they went to buy from the local market.
The staff get the children involved in making cards, gifts and baking.
Nathan is now nearly 3 and he loves going to Albert House to the point where he can't get out of the car quick enough and runs to the front door and knocks on to be let in.

Both of my children have attended Albert House. We have never had a problem there and find the staff very pleasant and caring towards the children. I feel that going to Albert House gave both my son and daughter a great start, maybe even a head start for when it comes to starting main stream school.

Excellent nursery. All the staff are fantastic, really welcoming and approachable. My son absolutely adores this nursery and can reel off all the names or the staff. They do brilliant day to day activities with the children and encourage outside play where possible which personally I think is brilliant. I am amazed how much my son learns e.g counting, colours, words etc. I cannot recommend this nursery enough. One very satisfied parent!
