St. John’s-on-the-Hill is a leading day and boarding independent preparatory school with two Day Nurseries in Chepstow and one in Newport. At all three Nurseries you will discover a happy and relaxed atmosphere to allow each child to thrive and develop. It is our belief that children learn best through 'play' and reach their intended goals using their imagination, fun and adventure.
The staff are qualified and experienced in all aspects of childcare and the days are planned and structured for maximum advantage and enjoyment for the children. We offer a comprehensive and varied range of activities and resources, inside and outside, where they are free to express themselves in all kinds of creative and varied ways. Emotional and social skills are developed at a pace to suit individual needs and abilities in a supportive environment where children and parents feel valued.
The locations of all the nurseries offer outdoor recreational areas where the children can enjoy a variety of supervised and safe outdoor activities. All St. John’s Nursery children are guaranteed a Reception place in St. John’s Pre-Prep, ensuring the best possible start for the best possible future.
