  • The Review Score (maximum of 10) is made up of a Quality Score (maximum of 5) and Quantity Score (maximum of 5):

    • Quality Score: 5 Points are available for the average rating. For each review the nursery is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The nursery receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating. (Please note that the ratings of Very Poor and Poor have only been available since the change from Recommendations to Reviews on 7th July 2015.)

      The Quality Score (average rating) of 4.639 for Teddies Nurseries Chesham Bois is calculated as follows: ( (51 Excellents x 5) + (16 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 72 Ratings = 4.639

      • Any Recommendation. Before the change from Recommendations to Reviews on 7th July 2015 all feedback was limited to Recommendations (ie positive comments only)

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

      1. 3 points for receiving the first Positive Review.

      2. 0.1 Point per Positive Review, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. (ie a nursery requires 10 Positive Reviews to receive the maximum score of 1 point.)

      3. (Number of Positive Reviews ÷ number of children) x 2, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. ie a nursery has to receive a number of Positive Reviews equal to half of the number of children to obtain the maximum score of 1 point. eg a nursery with 40 children has to receive 20 Positive Reviews to obtain the maximum score of 1 point.

The Quantity Score of 3.776 for Teddies Nurseries Chesham Bois is calculated as follows:

The nursery is fantastic, caring and loving. The staff is great and my children have always been happy. I wish they had a bigger outdoor area, that's one of the biggest drawback. They also need to get better at telling parents to lock the gates behind them and take their shoes off in baby care. Finally, I think the fee increases every year are too high and this year they tried to increase twice in one year which was unacceptable but the management in the nursery itself was very responsive to parents complaints and I think this has now been sorted. I will say that recently they were absolutely amazing. My son was born with clubfoot and requires boots when he sleeps, which the nursery has very strict at doing. Last Friday was world clubfoot day but i only told them when i dropped off my son. They decided to celebrate it in his room by having the children do their feet prints and then take individual cards home. That was so moving and i was truly touched by their beautiful gesture.

My daugther joined Teddies at the beginning of April, so joined when the change of manager happened so we've witnessed a few changes!

Firstly, I'm pleased that the Baby Room moved back to the larger back room. It's a lot more spacious and has a nicer 'feel' to it, with the cot room and kitchen right there. I know that my daughter seems to like the back room, and I get told that she's likes sitting in there and read the books!

The feel of the nursery seems more relaxed and friendly lately: there seems to be less of a divide between the ages, with my daughter having her breakfast with the older children occasionally.

Any queries I've had have been addressed immediately by the new manager, who is friendly and approachable, and I feel confident that any questions or problems that may arise in the future would be addressed efficiently and effectively.

My daughter's confidence and communication skills have greatly improved since joining Teddies and she really enjoys her time there!

Very pleased with the care of my daughter and she continues to grow and develop. Special thanks to the pre-school key workers who are a real credit to the nursery. The range of activities for the children are very good (Number Fit, French lessons, trips out to the Moor, outdoor activities) and my daughter is continuously learning new things.

We have been very impressed with the recent changes at the nursery, the new staff that have joined and the way the existing staff have adapted to the changes. The nursery feels organised and efficiently run but also a happy place to be. Our daughter enjoys going, seems to be learning new things every day and talks about her favourite staff all the time.

I would definitely recommend this nursery to everyone. My daughter goes there and she really enjoys it, the staff are fantastic and very welcoming. The manager and deputy are really good with helping you with anything, or even just seeing how my daughter is.
The staff work really hard and make the nursery a happy and fun place for the children. My daughter has good bond with the staff in her room they care for her very well. She loves the food she gets cooked from the chef, which has good a choice of food throughout the day and the nursery is really clean.

Very happy with the change in management and I am already seeing a much more positive attitude and the recent room changes look and feel great. Very happy with the staff and believe they are bringing the nursery back to the standard it was when my son first started.
